7 Comments on "Total MLB Home Runs by player country of birth"
In the PI Player Season and Game Finders under the Choose a Stat selections there is a Place of Birth selection by country.
Thanks, Richard. Not being a subscriber, I can’t access all the info, but with a little juggling I was able to use this function to answer a question I had about who the three (or two, as it turned out) slugging Jamaicans were.
I wonder how many players were born on dry land but buried at sea
Other than Clemente, I know of only one for sure (there was probably no actual burial involved).
All I can say is hurray for “Honest John” Anderson, the man responsible for 50 of the 54 home runs by players born in Norway, a total which not only exceeds all the neighboring Scandinavian countries by 47 but all but 19 other nations as well.
And best of all he was born in 1873 so I can brag him up some on the ongoing COG election.
Not really a surprise that the USA is followed by the DR for second.
Thanks for this, Andy. I used some of this data to create a quiz which is doing pretty well. http://www.sporcle.com/games/caramba/taterstan. There’s a link back to HHH as the source and I credited you in the comments.
